Scrap Metal Dealers' Act 2013
The Scrap Metal Dealers’ Act 2013 comes into force after September 2013, providing legislation across England and Wales to replace the Scrap Metal and Motor Salvage Operators Registration process. This legislation rescinds previous certificates of registration under the Scrap Metal Dealers’ Act 1964 and the Motor Salvage Operators Regulations 2002. Therefore existing dealers and operators will need to apply for a new registration under the 2013 Act as previous certificates will become invalid after 1 November 2013.
