Local Elections 2023

On Thursday 4 May, North Norfolk District Council will hold local elections at a District, Town and Parish level.
There will be elections for all 40 NNDC seats across the 32 ward areas which make up the District, with contested Parish or Town Council elections taking place in Aldborough, Barton Turf, Blakeney, Briningham, Catfield, Fulmodeston, Holt, Morston, East Runton, Sea Palling, Stiffkey, Stody and Wells-Next-The-Sea.

Voter ID
The Elections Act 2022 brought in new requirements for Voter ID at the polling station. These elections are the first which require electors who vote at their local Polling Station to provide an accepted form of photographic identification.
More information about voter ID, including the full list of accepted forms of photographic identification and how you can apply for the free Voter Authority Certificate from the Council, can be found here - www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/voterid.
The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate is Tuesday 25 April.
Postal voting
If you would prefer to vote by post, please download the application form from this link - Application to vote by post (electoralcommission.org.uk), which you can print and must complete by hand.
To return your completed form, you can do the following:
- Scan your completed application form and email it to postalvotes@north-norfolk.gov.uk
- Take a clear photograph of your completed application form on a smartphone and email it to postalvotes@north-norfolk.gov.uk
- Return it by post to Electoral Services, North Norfolk District Council, Holt Road, Cromer, NR27 9EN
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday April 18, 2023 so please consider this if returning your application by post.

Proxy voting
Another option you have is to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. If you would like more information, please contact us at postalvotes@north-norfolk.gov.uk
The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 25th April 2023.
Applications to register to vote in the May 2023 must be made by midnight on Monday 17 April.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 4 May. Polling Station information is shown on Polling Cards, which have recently been distributed and a full list of polling stations is available on our website as listed below.
Results for the district council elections will be declared overnight and published shortly thereafter through our website and social media channels. Contested Parish elections will be counted on Friday 5th May 2023 and the results will be published through the same channels.
