North Norfolk District Council’s (NNDC) new administration is delighted to announce the delivery of a fantastic new programme to support business and community groups across the District.

The package of support, presently being developed by NNDC, will seek to help towards addressing a variety of different challenges faced by rural areas such as north Norfolk. The programme, which is being delivered through to March 2025, will include: support for promoting and marketing the local visitor economy through Visit North Norfolk; improving business digitalisation through a digital grants and mentoring scheme, and encouraging community groups to deliver well-being and environmental benefits through the Sustainable Communities Fund.

Alongside this there will also be a range of grants intended to help towards funding larger projects. The Rural Business and Communities Grant, administered by New Anglia LEP on behalf of NNDC, will support both local businesses and community groups, with grants ranging from £10,000 - £100,000.

Funding for these schemes have been made available from Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) through UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

Cllr Paul Heinrich, Portfolio holder for Sustainable Growth comments:

"We are delighted to be announcing such a comprehensive plan of support for businesses and communities across the district. This pot of funding, totalling £2.6m, is just part of our ongoing commitment to supporting economic growth within north Norfolk. North Norfolk District Council continue to offer a range of face-to face support, advice and guidance which dovetail with these grants, as a package of support for businesses and community groups."
