Cllr. Victoria Holliday, Chairman of the Council, is holding a Dementia Networking Event at the Council office in Cromer on 28 April.

During her tenure, Cllr. Holliday has been visiting community dementia groups across the district to thank volunteers for all they do to support those with dementia and their Carers. Along the way, she has gained a deeper understanding of their work, and a better appreciation of their contribution to improving lives.

So far, the Chairman has raised over £3,700 for her chosen charities, all of which are local dementia groups.

The event will bring together representatives from the Dementia groups to thank them for the contribution they make in the community and provide them with the opportunity to showcase their proudest achievements and to share good ideas.

Chairman of the Council, Cllr. Victoria Holliday said:

“I have been humbled by my visits to these fantastic community groups looking after our residents with dementia and those who care for them. The dedication and compassion shown by our volunteers is awe-inspiring and incredibly impactful.

We are hugely fortunate in North Norfolk to have so many individuals who devote themselves to improving  the lives of those with dementia and their carers.  I am immensely grateful to each and everyone involved in this vitally important work."

Additionally, representatives from the Norfolk Community Foundation, the  Alzheimer’s Society, Voluntary Norfolk and Norfolk Community Transport will be present to offer guidance, advice and signposting.
