North Norfolk Business Awards 2019

A better place for business

Welcome to the North Norfolk Business Awards 2019 (#nnba19)

Following 2018’s successful awards, they are back to celebrate the best of business in the district. It’s your chance to shine, and gives us the chance to highlight the diversity and excellence of businesses across North Norfolk.

This year there are eight categories, including the new category of Small Business, which we have added following feedback from last year.

It’s our chance to celebrate, promote and unearth the many great things that are happening in North Norfolk, and show how this really is a better place to do business.

The awards ceremony at Gresham’s School was held on 21 February, where the winners were announced.

The Awards

The Agriculture, Horticulture and Countryside Award in association with Lovewell Blake

Agriculture, horticulture and the countryside is a mainstay of the district’s economy. Agritech businesses that have helped improve yield and efficiency, farmers or co-operatives that have opened up new markets, suppliers who have helped the industry improve profitability, and businesses that have shown great management of the countryside can enter this category.

The Business Growth Award in association with Four

Businesses that enter this category will be able to show strong, sustainable growth and have a clear plan on how this will be maintained in the future. Businesses that have boosted their exports or have recently moved into the district or made significant investments are welcome to enter this category.

The Environment Award in association with Fakenham Racecourse

This award recognises the green pioneers and innovators who are leading the way in their use of environmentally-friendly practices. Applications can include the use of new technology, projects to improve sustainability and reduce an organisation’s environmental impact, and products and services that help others improve their own impact are encouraged to enter this category.

The Innovation Award in association with Archant

This category celebrates businesses that are innovating today to help secure a successful future. Entrants will be able to show how they have introduced new ideas or working practices into their existing operations. This can include research and development or collaborations.

The New Business Award in association with eastlaw

This category is open to businesses that have been in existence for no more than two years. Entrants will need to show how they have found their own niche in the market, how their ongoing operations will benefit the district (for example, offering a needed service, providing employment or raising the district’s profile) and how they have a sustainable business plan.

The Small Business Award in association with Menta

This award is open to businesses with up to ten employees. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and entries are welcome from ambitious start-ups that are offering something new as well as from more established operations that have embedded themselves in the community.

The Tourism and Hospitality Award in association with Thursford Christmas Spectacular

Tourism and hospitality is a key business sector in the district. This category highlights businesses that, as well as being successful in their own right, have actively promoted the area and helped develop North Norfolk’s reputation as a premier tourist and visitor destination.

The Young People and Skills Award in association with New Anglia LEP

This award recognises local businesses which are working to raise aspirations, provide opportunities for young people and improve the skills of their workforce. The award will look for examples of strong leadership, and innovative ways to promote the diverse range of career opportunities across the district.
