Report littering
Report littering using our online form.
The council is responsible for keeping adopted highways clean, within the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act.
Littering is considered less than one carrier bag full of rubbish that may be concentrated or scattered at a location. It includes cans, bottles, packaging, food, rubbish bags, cigarette ends and many other discarded items.
If littering is larger than this, then report fly tipping.
When you make a report
Please make a note of the following:
- location
- estimate of how much there is
- cause of the littering, if known
Between 10am on Saturday 22nd February and 1pm on Sunday 23rd February our suppliers will be performing system maintenance and updates. This will result in the bin collections system occasionally not responding as expected. We have been told this lack of response will be for no longer than 30 minutes so if the form does not return the result you expect, please try later in the day.
What happens next
Once you’ve reported littering, we will investigate your report and make arrangements to remove the litter where the area falls within our responsibility.
