Book a beach hut, chalet or beach hut site

All of our beach huts and chalets are now available for a five-year lease agreement only.

We are pleased to be able to streamline our approach to our much-loved assets while ensuring a guaranteed income for the Council, making administrative efficiencies, and reducing the long waitlist that we currently have of people hoping to secure a beach hut or chalet.

We are thankful to all the people who have enjoyed our short-term hire option over the years and encourage anyone interested in taking up the opportunity for a longer-term lease to refer to the Five year leases section on this page.

If you currently have a booking for a short-term lease in the coming months, this will still be honoured, and you are not required to do anything. No further short-term leases will be available to book. 

Our team is contacting those at the top of the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list, you are not required to do anything as we will be in touch when nearing the top. You can add your details to the waiting list.

Five year leases 

The Council currently offers leased units at Cromer, Sheringham, Mundesley and Overstrand.

Waiting lists

There have historically been very long waiting lists for the leased chalets and beach hut sites. The Council now makes a non-refundable charge to be included on the waiting lists. Before applying please read the Council Policy leaflet concerning the waiting lists.

We can’t guarantee the weather but all our facilities have great views of the sea and are no more than a few feet away from our celebrated beaches and colourful resorts.

All situated within walking distance of amenities, leasing a hut or chalet provides an ideal place to explore the surrounding area, store buckets and spades, get changed after a bracing swim or just relax with a good book.
