Green Futures: youth project
The Green Futures youth project aims to inspire and empower young people in North Norfolk to take an active role in tackling environmental challenges. Funded by the North Norfolk Youth Advisory Board, our Leisure team will deliver various free activities throughout the year for young people aged 11 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs).
About the project
The project has been developed in collaboration with the young people of North Norfolk, who have identified the need for:
- more hands-on learning opportunities
- free or cheap clubs and activities
- better maintained parks and outdoor spaces
The Young Commissioners on the North Norfolk Youth Advisory Board are also passionate about the environment and climate change.
About the sessions
The sessions will provide hands-on learning opportunities, focusing on the environment and climate change. The project also kicks off with a handful of classroom-based sessions aimed at tackling eco-anxiety and giving people the tools and knowledge to be more aware of climate change issues.
We aim to help young people:
- get outside
- learn about nature
- be active
- get creative
